ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY

1800s

A fifth-generation construction family, originating in the 1880s by their great-great-grandfather, Daniel Grady. Daniel was an Irish immigrant who started his business paving the streets of Providence, Rhode Island with cobblestone.

1910

James H. Lynch married Grady’s daughter, founding the J.H. Lynch Company.

1972

Leaving the J.H. Lynch company to start his own business, Gerald Lynch founded the Falmouth operation, Lawrence-Lynch Corp., with the purchase of the Frederick Lawrence Company.

1977

Lawrence-Lynch Corp. established an employer-funded Pension Plan, contributing to our employees’ retirement funds.

1986

Lawrence-Lynch Corp. established a Tuition Assistance Program, providing funds to employees’ children to assist with post-secondary education. As of 2022, the company has provided over half a million dollars in awards.

1995

White Brothers Construction Company, a family-owned construction company that opened in 1927 on Martha’s Vineyard, was purchased by Gerald Lynch, creating White Bros.-Lynch Corp.

1999

Lawrence-Lynch Corp. established a 401k plan, providing employees with another vehicle to save for their future.

2004

Lawrence-Lynch Corp. was divided into two separate entities. Christopher Lynch purchased Lawrence-Lynch Corp. from his father, taking on the role of President. Gerald Lynch remained the owner of a newly titled entity, Lawrence-Lynch Materials Corp., which includes the material sales part of the business.

2018

Christopher Lynch purchased White Bros-Lynch Corp. from his father, which became a wholly owned subsidiary of Lawrence-Lynch Corp.

2020

Lawrence-Lynch Corp. established a Joint Venture with Kee Construction, securing the National Cemetery Project in Bourne.

2021

Lawrence Lynch Corp. successfully bid and was awarded work with the Vineyard Wind I project, the nation’s first commercial offshore wind farm, yielding a 13% increase to our workforce.

2023

Lawrence-Lynch Corp. created a Child Care Subsidy program to support and acknowledge the challenges of working families.

Our hot mix asphalt plant has been continually upgraded and now includes asphalt recycling capabilities — a move towards a more environmentally-friendly manufacturing facility.

WHITE BROS.—LYNCH CORP

Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, MA

We are a hot mix manufacturer and paving contractor specializing in asphalt paving projects for residential and commercial properties including tennis courts, parking lots, subdivisions, and site work. We install Rip Rap Shore protection, provide excavating services for septic systems and demolition work, and sell mixed gravel and loam materials.
